Well yeah it probably is my fault but, fucking iinet!! I've overdone the music downloads this month and now we're capped at turtle speed for the next few days. Something my housemates are absolutely pissed about since exams are just around the corner.
Anyway the first one comes from Aston Shuffle, the dudes out of Canberra who I have a lot of time for. Most people will know them from their Claude Von Stroke Whistler remix or their recent effort on the Ministry Mashed 4 compilation.
I imagine the Canberra scene is a bit like Perth - isolated and sometimes difficult to get a party started but they've managed to produce some monster tracks and work refreshing remixes. 'For Everyone' has been spinning in my head for the last week. It has been remixed by three others but I don't think any of them have managed to capture the infectious potential of the track. I've put the original up but I think the secret to playing this live is to drop the 'for everyone' at 2:30 when the dancefloor least expects it, a lot like the Hump Day Project did with their mash-up version which breaks down into a baltimore explosion:
